The Tooley lab is interested in how proteins are modified and the importance of these modifications in development and disease.

We are specifically interested in the protein modification of N-terminal methylation and the enzymes that add this modification, NRMT1 and NRMT2.

Projects in the lab include understanding the biochemistry of these enzymes, their roles in cancer formation, and their roles in stem cell development.
